Platz is pleased to announce that we are now handling D. Modelkits, an emerging manufacturer based in Portugal.
D. Modelkits, a new model manufacturer launched in Portugal in 2020, is staffed by rally and model enthusiasts.
They are friends with rally drivers and manufacturers who are active in real rallies, and they model cars that are active in rallies under official licenses.
The future development of this manufacturer is a focus of attention.
About the actual car:
The Sierra RS Cosworth is a high-performance version of the Ford Sierra produced by Ford of Europe from 1986 to 1992.
The car was tailored to Group A specifications and participated in touring car races.
In addition to competing in touring car races around the world, the Sierra also showed its superiority in the World Touring Car Championship.
The Sierra was also active in the rally field.
When the third-generation Sierra Cosworth was introduced in January 1990, the machine became four-wheel drive, and the development of rally cars began in earnest.
The engine was an inline 4-cylinder 2-liter 16-valve engine with a turbocharger, created by Cosworth, producing over 220 horsepower.
Full-time four-wheel drive was adopted.
It participated in each of the 1992 WRC rounds and made its presence felt following 1991.
